Hi everyone,
This June, I’ll be serving on a World Race mission trip to Guatemala. Thank you so much for your prayers and support; it truly means a lot. I plan to share weekly updates here while I’m in the field, and I’ll be using WhatsApp for more frequent updates in a group chat.
Missions have been a part of my life for a growing time. I grew up at Palmcroft Church, where I first got involved in service through their middle and high school programs. Those experiences, especially working on teams and helping run Vacation Bible Schools, really shaped my understanding of what it means to serve others. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to participate in two short-term mission trips, one to Nicaragua and another to Slovakia. Each experience was very different, but both challenged me to step outside my comfort zone and trust God in new ways.
In Nicaragua, our team partnered with a growing church organization. We did practical work like painting and yard projects, as well as running a VBS. One of the most impactful moments for me was getting to share a message from Exodus 3, reflecting on Moses’ trust in God's purpose despite his hesitation. In Slovakia, we worked with a ministry that hosts an English camp for local kids. I helped teach a group of younger students, leading lessons, games, and discussions throughout the week. It was a reminder of how meaningful simple connection and consistency can be, especially with kids.
Each of these experiences has helped prepare me for this upcoming trip, and I’m excited to see what God will do in Guatemala. While the specific details of our work haven’t been fully outlined yet, World Race typically focuses on community outreach and discipleship. Ultimately, our team will be serving in whatever ways best support the needs of our hosts.
As this trip approaches, I’d really appreciate your prayers. A specific request is for spiritual, physical and mental preparation for us all in the weeks ahead. Please also pray that we would continue to grow in our relationships with Jesus and become more firm in our faith as the fog dissipates. Thank you again for your support, it means a great deal to me.
